The proliferation of autonomous robotic swarms is redefining what it takes to defend critical assets and maintain operational advantage. Fibre-optic and AI-guided drones reduce reliance on traditional RF communications, limiting the effectiveness of conventional electronic warfare, while their speed, scale, and ability to operate in a wide range of weather conditions present new operational challenges. These evolving threats require capabilities that complement existing counter-UAS solutions. At the same time, the economics are shifting: robotic swarms can be fielded at relatively low cost, while many traditional intercept options remain significantly more expensive on a per-engagement basis. Addressing this imbalance will be a defining challenge for the next generation of defence.
AnGard was founded to advance a critical capability within Europe's evolving counter-UAS ecosystem. As a spin-out from TNO and the University of Twente, we are developing an ITAR-free high-power microwave (HPM) system, with both hardware and software engineered fully in-house and built in Europe. Designed to address emerging threats such as fibre-optic and AI-guided robotic systems, HPM provides a non-kinetic layer of defence that complements existing counter-UAS solutions. Its all-weather operation and low cost per engagement make it well suited to scenarios where scale and sustained operations are essential.
Today marks a new chapter for AnGard. We are introducing a refreshed brand identity and a clear market focus: advancing European high-power microwave technology as a key capability within modern counter-UAS defence. Our new identity is a reflection of our mission. Purposeful, focused, and engineered for clarity under pressure. Built around the operators entrusted with protecting people, infrastructure, and strategic positions, it embodies the discipline and precision that define both our technology and the environment in which it is designed to operate.
"The future of counter-UAS belongs to layered defence, where complementary technologies work in concert to address increasingly sophisticated threats. We believe high-power microwave systems are a critical part of that evolution, and our mission is to equip Europe with a next-generation capability designed for the evolving threat landscape." Jasmine Sharifa – CEO & Founder, AnGard
AnGard platform is modular and scalable, engineered for fixed-site and mobile deployment for vehicles, ships, and convoys. It is designed to operate and integrate as the non-kinetic effector inside a prime’s Find-Fix-Strike chain.
AnGard is backed by NUNC Capital, a private investment firm that closes targeted defence gaps by connecting effective technology with experienced defence operators. AnGard sits inside the NUNC defence-tech portfolio, leveraging the firm's shared services infrastructure across supporting functions including finance, legal, marketing, and HR, enabling founders to focus fully on turning their vision into reality.
AnGard's near-term focus is field validation with elite end-user units and rapid deployment with its first partners, beginning in the Netherlands and Ukraine, with expansion plans across NATO member states.
